★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This health centre is the most poorly organised I've encountered. It took 3 separate calls over a few weeks to make a booking that remained in the system. And when I got there for a covid travel test (which is what I was booked and quoted for), they said they do not do paid covid tests. They then suggested a labtest centre which I went to which does not do covid travel tests entirely. They had no reception today either.

I went in for specific problems and the doctor was very dismissive and me feel like a hypochondriac when I’ve already had my problems verified by other doctors. Thy also tried to over charge me when I had to explain what I should be charged when I previously called.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have lived in 4 countries in the past 35 years of my life and lived in 7 different locations in New Zealand in the past 12 years. I have experienced the care and service of various GPs in these countries but I have never come across a GP as caring, knowledgeable and efficient as Dr Hemant Kheterpal at Shortland Health. I have visited Shortland Health various times over the past year and I am amazed at the genuine care, warmth and professionalism I experienced here. Dr Hemant Khetarpal and Monique Pearce have a passion and love for what they do and I cant thank them enough for their care and treatment. I followed the advice given by Dr Kheterpal and had a speedy recovery from my disk irritation/lumbar sprain. My physio commented that he hasnt seen anyone recover so quickly from this in his entire career spanning over 20 years. Dr Hemant Kheterpal is a GENIUS!

I went on an emergency and they had given me an appointment within 1hr 20 minutes which I think is reasonable considering that I didn't book an earlier appointment before arrival. Dr Hemant Kheterpal was very patient with me. He answered all of my doubts without any haste to finish my consultation. I am feeling better after the consultation. The parameters for a good clinic are well rounded.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you or your loved ones are seeking mental health care, avoid this place like your life depends on it! I can’t speak for the capabilities of the psychologists themselves but the inability of the GP in regard to the treatment of mental health complexities is astonishing. I know there’s a massive flaw in our health system regarding mental health treatment/the associated subsidies and although this practice does all they’re required to ‘legally’, when it comes to ethical and moral principles they completely miss the mark. Genuine patient care and concern is not a priority by any stretch of the imagination. Off the back of a 15min appointment you’ll simply become a number and an incentive to ‘clip the ticket’ with yet another prescription handed out. Please be cautious, do your own research and seek guidance elsewhere!
