β β β β β We had an awesome stay at the Southern Cross Lodge after booking at the last minute. The room was spotlessly clean, bed really comfy, breakfast fantastic and the manager was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended!

β β β β β Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here for 4 nights. The beds are so comfortable with 2 pillows per person. The room was spotless and the mountain views were lovely. The staff are so welcoming, very down to earth and very willing to help. I didn't have a vehicle during my stay by really it's only a short walk to the cafes/restaurants.

β β β β β Very much enjoyed out stay at Southern X Lodge. Jo and Dave are fantastic! They were very friendly, helpful and lovely to deal with. Rooms were very clean and comfortable as was the rest of the lodge. Lots of room throughout the lodge with lots of good seating areas and very nice outdoor areas for the summer. Just up the road from good food and great views of Mt Hutt from the rooms. Definitely recommend staying!

β β β β β I stayed here for a University field trip. We stayed three nights and had all meals catered. It was a fantastic place to base ourselves. The food and facilities were great and staff were lovely. They catered great for me as the only vegetarian in the group. Canβt wait to stay again when skiing at Mt Hutt ?

β β β β β Excellent place to stay, very friendly and helpful staff couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Methven! Rooms a tad small however the beds are very comfy and en suite is modern and clean. Excellent A++++++

β β β β β My family and I just spent 2 nights at Southern Cross Lodge.
We were made to feel so very welcome by the owner Dave and the fabulous hard working Jo.
Arriving late, or very early breakfasts, airport busing, or daughters coming and going at all hours, kids playing or Mum going out !!!...it didn't matter what it was...nothing was a hassle for the dynamic duo, they took great delight in helping us have a fabulous weekend.
The place was spotless. The breakfast was great. The games room is there to be enjoyed...and we sure did. The spa, the pool the family living
areas were all so well set up and thought out. Well done.
I can completely recommend your place to any family to enjoy.

β β β β β The hosts, Dave and Jo, are very friendly and welcoming.
We stayed for two nights and the view from the bed was pretty spectacular.
The room was not very large, but price/room ratio is definitely 5 out of 5.
Everything was spotless clean and the bed comfortable.
The breakfast is a buffet and had a variety of muesli, yoghurt, fruit, bread, etc.

β β β β β Price reflects accommodation, unfortunately I thought it was 260 a night not 130 as I booked found it on Google maps. Things I think could be improved. I could feel the springs in the bed, the heater clicks in and out keeping you awake all night, tea and coffee in room and cleaning the room between nights. Things that can't be improved noise, walls are paper thin and the size of the rooms, perhaps more clarity from booking.com or Google about the type or size of room and the star rating of the motel.
