★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the Food trucks on the main road in Ohakune by the New World, behind the Mizzoni Pizza container. There are quite a few options based on the beef brisket, pulled pork or the tex mex chicken. You have options of burgers or meals and sides, normal or loaded with the meats. They also have chicken and waffles but they were out when we got there.
We ordered four meals and two loaded fries for 6 people and it was too much. The meals came on dirty rice with coleslaw and a serving of fries. Leftovers became breakfast the following day. The brisket and pulled pork were really nice. I found that the chicken, both Tex-Mex and fried, were too salty.
I'd be interested in trying the loaded onion rings next time.
Be aware that because they are a food truck, they aren't always there.
