★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been hearing about this lovely place and had the chance to have dinner a few weeks ago. Lovely atmosphere, huge fireplace, warm welcome and delicious, wholesome food. I tried most of the tapas and venison medallion, which was cooked to perfection. The espresso martini was strong and sweet, one of the best I've had. The service was so friendly and warm. I will definitely be back, thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just walk in on a winters night and see the beautiful wood fire with couches.
Food was good, we ordered Tapas to share would have been nice if they spaced them out instead of them arriving all at once. But that didn't stop us from enjoying them and eating them. Just made us look like piggies.

We visited the restaurant for dinner during New Year holiday period. Glad we booked ahead - all tables were taken, and some walk-in customers couldn’t be accommodated.
We had several dishes - mostly vegetarian. The service was friendly and the food good, but the price of some items was too high - for example- $9 for a small side of steamed greens (beans). This is perhaps due to being so much inland, and not having much competition.
The baked feta was delicious- we had not tried this before. But the accompanying bread (baguette) was too dry.
They also agreed to change the cheese in the gnocchi from blue cheese to cheddar.ni e
To have this flexibility.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Welcoming and warm atmosphere. Very thoughtful regarding the kids play area. The food was exquisite and extravagantly delightful. One of the juiciest Venison I've ever had. Quite a decadent culinary experience and that too for the whole family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Popular restaurant in Ohakune on the main road. Tasty food with generous portions on offer on the menu. Kids meals available as well, with the option to pay $3 more to add a drink and dessert for the kids. Staff were lovely and the place was busy. Booking is essential

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had small plates for sharing and they were all very tasty. If we had found this restaurant earlier, we would visit again definitely.
All plates were great.
However the soda drinks are tap drinks and it wasn't that fizzy and warm when I got mine. Since it was only $4, so I didn't complain it.
Still enjoyable with their food.
