β β β β β Dropped my iPhone off to be tested for what I thought was a faulty microphone. Paid $60 to have the 'fault' confirmed, be told it would have to be returned to AppleNZ for a non-warranty repair (due to a slight bend in the case) and was quoted full retail for a 5C replacement. After buying a new 5se for $200 less from a local retailer, I took my 'faulty' 5c to a 3rd-party repairer. They determined that the microphone was working fine and straightened the slight bend on the spot for $10.

β β β β β Since this is the only Mac/Apple specialist in Nelson, I had to reuse the shop and its services a few times now. Unfortunately, staff always seem overworked and artificially friendly. The prices I paid for repairs were reasonably high and the post-repair customer care was average to poor. A shame that this shop holds the monopoly in Nelson and uses it to their advantage (so it seems).

β β β β β Southtec's products are excellent, and the staff are friendly experts. I bought my desktop computer from them several years ago, and when I recently had a software issue they sorted it in a very short time for a reasonable charge. I heartily recommend Southtec.

β β β β β Never before have I had such rude service, or attempted to be charged for a diagnostic when my computer is under warranty. Εͺbertec in Auckland, a superior business, only charge $50. Thankfully my older computer has just been looked at and cleaned out for use prior to my travelling so I can wait until I speak to them and get to Christchurch to get this one looked at.
