★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Customer service was ok but place has definitely gone downhill recently. Food is not good, even my fries we’re not crunchy and came on a dirty wooden board. Need to put some love back into the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff are amazing, but generous to a fault? Not so much anymore it seems.
The Good: Staff are amazing, friendly, personal service. The staff member went so far as to thoroughly clean the highchair for our young toddler, without even being asked to, they brought colouring in and pencils when he was playing up. Attentive and very caring. Atmosphere is awesome for kids and a Friday night meal.
The Not So Good: The Haloumi Salad was 99% lettuce, 0.5% Haloumi, Beetroot & Sweet Potato. The Pie with Mash & Pea Mash had about 1mm of Pea Mash hidden under the pie. What gives, Speights is supposed to be 'Generous to a fault' right?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been coming here for a couple of years due to convenience but I’m always disappointed with the service. There are never enough staff on and they are super inconsistent with their food. Ordered a gluten free pizza (coeliac) and they brought me out a normal pizza which could have made me very sick if I hadn’t noticed. They also overcharged us for four drinks we never received and had a super bad attitude about it. Sent a friendly email mentioning it rather than leaving a review and received no response. Will go the extra distance to meadowbank or Lunn Ave in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is awesome specially the meat platter. The ribs are so tender with sauce selection to top it all. Highly recommended.
Kudos to the all the chefs, management and staff. It was really a fantastic experience and very attentive and working hard staff. Highly recommended to dine in, chill out and enjoy the ambience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a very good popular place for local to hang out. Very suitable for families gathering. Saw families with grandparents or grandchildren's. The place also has private area for dining away from the pub gathering people. Always busy during a big games such as All black games, super league games or black caps cricket games. Foods are average. Good choices of beers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Speights Ale House Stonefields was a great dining experience! The atmosphere as we entered was very much sports bar but when we were seated around the corner from the bar/TV it was actually very quiet and comfortable to sit and eat.
Service was bubbly, our order was taken quickly and the food came promptly. It definitely felt like we were being looked after.
The food itself was tasty, and the menu had a wide range of options ranging from pub food to finer options.
The drinks menu was the highlight, with the Speights range on tap (yum) and the option to choose between glass, pint or jug. The range of alternatives was also extensive so plenty of options for those less keen on a beer.
Staff were very helpful and we had a lovely time. Will definitely be back for another brew soon!
