★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staying at the Sunset Lodge is the highlight of my trip north for work. As I come up twice a year from the Waikato for the job, I look forward to my stay. Hosts and location are brilliant after a long drive. Thanks to Sharon and Shane for their efforts to make the stay welcoming and very comfortable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Watching the Sun set into the sea,then later sitting outside looking at the stars.Could be agreat place to star gaze as there is a dark sky so no light interference making the stars appear brilliant.The sound of the sea in the near distance added to the atmosphere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a fantastic stay - Sharron & Shane are so welcoming. The Surf Suite was spotless with a lovely ocean / countryside view. The room was so quiet, we enjoyed a great sleep. Complimentary breakfast hit the spot each morning!
Sunset View Lodge is located close to the beach, and a short walk to Sharkeys restaurant/takeaway/dairy. It’s 30 mins by car to Kai-Iwi Lakes.
We look forward to staying again - thank you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a last minute booking on the day at Sunset View Lodge but an hour later our guys advised the booking was not needed anymore. We cancelled and Sharon from Sunset View Lodge was so helpful and although we didn't stay with them, we have added them as one to book when up that way. Fantastic service and so very helpful. Thanks Sharon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to stay! We had the Surf Room which was quiet, clean, nice private deck, super comfy bed. Close to the beach and local food place/bar. Love their dog Nala!! Great pool with lots of sunloungers. Looking forward to staying again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a really enjoyable stay on the last day of a week long holiday. The location was quiet and relaxing and the sunset was fantastic. The rooms and the facilities are modern and comfortable. Great hosts and we will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fabulous accommodation, very clean and beautifully presented. The view was stunning and the sunset magnificent. Driving up to the lodge was very impressive with the lovely gardens. Sharron and Shane were very friendly and helpful hosts The weather was so hot that maybe in time a pullout sunshade would let guests utilize the deck the whole time! Just a tiny item could be added, a plate and knife would be a handy addition for cheese to have with the wine! We will definitely return. The continental breakfast in the morning was plentiful.
