★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can drive here, with access off Taupahi Road. The reserve has a toilet block, a children’s play area, lots of trees for shade and plenty of room for the dogs to run around. There is also a boccè or pétanque play area too. Easy access to get into the river here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What I loved most about this walk (or bike) is that it was so naturally beautiful. The outlooks over the Tongario River were great as we saw several fishermen/women fly fishing which is so interesting to observe. At some points we coulf clearly see trout swimming. Nice walk.
