COMPANY BACKGROUND

Mudgway Bros. Ltd. was established in 1939 by brothers Jim and Ron, at a later date they were joined by their brother Jack and their brother inlaw Les. They began by producing leather built heels and master cut soles. Over the years the company progressed and began supplying a full range of insoles and soles to fashion shoe manufacturers. During the early 1970's Jim Snr, son Jim and his wife Josie purchased the company from their relatives, therein transferring ownership to one family.

The company continued to flourish despite fierce competition during the late 1970's and 1980's and in this period acquired 'Ultrastyle Last Co'. In 1978 New Zealand's footwear industry began to experience an 'open door' shoe imports policy; the beginning of the demise of many manufacturers. However as other competitors exited the industry, Mudgway Bros. Ltd survived - mainly due to the company's forward thinking.

In 2006 Jim and Josie purchased Texon NZ Ltd. Texon had a long established history and knowledge of issues within the worldwide footwear market, and a large influence in the shoe repair and shoe care supply industries. These days the company offers services including components manufacturing, contract cutting and an extensive range of manufacturing, shoe repair and shoe care products.

Shoe Manufacturing (has and still) holds a place in Mudgway Bros / Texon NZ's marketing outlook. All Shoe Manufacturers can contact us with confidence and peace of mind; secure in the knowledge that we have the Global Contacts and expertise for all Shoemaking solutions. We have an onsite Manufacturing Plant capable of making full componentry, from Insoles through to fully finished Resin and Leather Soles, as well as a wood heel Turning Plant for units with or without Rand. From Shoe Linings, Insole Boards, Soling Sheets through to Buckles, Elastics and Eyelets, Texon NZ have, and can source, the range of Products to meet all your Shoe Manufacturing needs.

In present times Shoe Repair and Shoecare is fast becoming an important cog in the New Zealand retail sector, as more people opt to have their Footwear and Accessories repaired than in previous years. With this in mind Texon NZ are conscious of stocking and supplying an ever increasing range of Quality Brands to meet the demands of both the Shoe Repair and Shoe Care retail sectors.
