β β β β β Old school charm and hospitality clean rooms in central location.
Car racing on Dee St. is noisy.
Front rooms bigger and better appointed for the same price as standard rooms.

β β β β β We booked for 2 nights! We left after our first!
The room was old, tattered, unclean, cold and expensive. No TV, no fridge and the heater it wouldnβt have heated your socks if you placed it directly over it. The towels were old and worn through and one of our beds had dog hair on it.
The entire hotel was run down with tattered wall paper, cracks, ripped up and stained carpet, holes in the wall, broken doors and handrails. At night it gave you a haunted house feel.
This once Grand Hotel is nothing but a money taker and shouldnβt be listed or open to the public. It is unsafe and not in good enough condition to people on holidays.
I was a little weirded out with the permanent/long term tenants who live in the building. You never saw them but you knew they were there because there were signs up throughout the hotel telling you it was closed to hotel goers. You could also see dirty dishes and containers and piles of old or used clothes sitting in lounge chairs.
The reception area wasnβt professional - it looked like a storage location. Bikes, clothes, old boxes, cleaning products etc.
I wouldnβt recommend this hotel to people but I would recommend authorities inspect and close it down.

β β β β β Beautiful experience there.. Loved the older lady, she and rest of crew members are very friendly. I felt like living in 1940.. people those who like vintage and old landmarks should visit and stay here..

β β β β β Old world hotel experience. Could definately do with an upgrade but clean and comfy. Rooms were big and complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus! Right on the main street so noise isnt great but ave to expect it as its right in town. Recommend.

β β β β β Such a cool old place. I felt like I was walking into the past, in a good way. The rooms were nice, Although a lot is still waiting to be renovated in the main areas. A lot of detail had been paid to the rooms interior decorating which gave it a boutique feel. Also the new owner couldn't be nicer. I would totally stay again if I get the chance.

β β β β β I have stayed at the Grand Hotel, and dinned there many times in the 1960's & 70's. Recently, just for a treat, I thought I'd book the royal suit for one night. However, I was quite disturbed by the presence of very unsavoury people entering and exiting the hotel and decided not to enquire about my booking. My five star rating is for the 1960's and 70's.

β β β β β The night staff was rude and he needs a lesson in people skills because he said that he would throw me out?
