About The Kids Dept - Baby Shop
The Kids Dept was born when we were out shopping for Nursery Products and we found that the level of customer service was very patchy. There were 2 types of stores, 1 where you couldn't get any help or 2 they would try and sell you things you don't need - as a first time parent this is pretty overwhelming.
We opened with the idea in mind that we wanted to offer outstanding customer service but also not sell you something you don't need.
We pride ourselves on our Quality Selection of Baby Cots, Dressers that combine as a Change Table and Quality Baby Strollers. We also have beautiful quality baby clothing that will last through multiple children (mine all has!) and Educational Children's Toys.
We have a store in East Tamaki, Auckland where you can find all our Baby Cots, Dressers & Baby Strollers set up in store - we have abit of everything in the store but as space is limited we don't have everything online in the store but if it's says it's in stock then it's in our warehouse out the back which is on-site & easily accessible by us.
When visiting or talking to us, you will be speaking to one of the owners (who are all family). You will chat to either Dave, Diane or Laura - we look forward to welcoming you in store (either in person or virtually) soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ absolutely undeniably worst shopping experience in my entire life. My daughter and i were followed around as if we were armed criminals in a jewelery store. No greeting from the sole sales attendant and just the rudest possible body language the entire time. My niece just gave birth and she appreciates nice things but apparently we can't afford to shop here so we're treated like third class citizens. Honestly if this is the level of service and courtesy from a kids outlet shop god help our young parents out there.

Owners were very patient, welcoming, and accommodating as we went over everything we purchased into details. They even stayed open longer for us to get everything sorted.
