Jason could give Jack a run for his money as a man of all trades - spanning across the last 40 years, Jason has been dipping his toe into all pools of the hospitality world at some of New Zealand's most iconic restaurants and across some of the largest world events held in New Zealand, a highlight being the Rugby World Cup 2011. Can we unofficially say that Jason had a hand in winning us the World Cup? Maybe not, but we will anyway - thanks Jason.
Jason sees operating a venue like a rough gem, no matter what angle you look at - it's bound to sparkle and Five Knots has plenty of that! While he always goes the extra mile to make your day, what makes Jason's day is spending time with his lovely partner and son, even watching grass grow would be time well spent with these guys. He's a big New Zealand Pinot Noir fan and wouldn't mind sharing one with Elon Musk - we'll see what we can do Jason.

β β β β β I have decided to edit my review. After an initial bad service I was contacted by Lara (Sales + Events Manager) who was absolutely brilliant. She explained what she thought went wrong and asked me to give the place another chance. Went in on Saturday about a week or so later and my family and I had wonderful time. Great service, great food and atmosphere. I will come back to see the place again.
Place not too busy. Sat down outside with family. No service for 15 min. Went to look for someone. Was told we are sorry and will be with you in a moment. Nothing for another 10 minutes. As we got up waiter showed up. Asked for 3 cocktails (one virgin) and two deserts. Got two cocktails and one desert. Asked for another cocktail. The 2nd desert never showed up. The cocktail was a joke. See the picture. More like $17 glass of ice. Wrote to the managing group but no response from there either.

β β β β β Brilliant service. In fact, mind-reading. First time here and I was about to leave the outdoor area to get a second drink. The young lady working the outdoor area (forgive me, as I didn't get your name) came and asked, with perfect timing, if I would like another drink. Took my order and payment outside, and saved me a trip back to the bar. Brilliant service! Will definitely be returning.

β β β β β Great menu, it was hard for us to pick something. Everything was super yummy, chicken wings and pizza were good and Boa buns were yummy too. Quick service, friendly staff! Also has dietary options and menu if that is what you need

β β β β β Great Service by Charlie, we were sitting outside on a beautiful day, and Charlie regularly attended our table, eating copious amounts of great food, and of course the beer was cold and tasted great. We will be back.

β β β β β I had my 21st Birthday dinner here and it was wonderful! The food was delicious! The service was fantastic and friendly. All credit to Line, she made the night. Always checking if we needed anything, smiling and so professional. She was absolutely fantastic! It was the day before ANZAC and weβre pretty busy but Line was just amazing and really made our group feel welcome. When (not if) we come back we certainly hope Line is there. Shout out to this amazing member of staff!!

The food was absolutely brilliant, what made our day even more special, despite trying to tangle a toddler was the brilliant, friendly service by the team. In particular I would like to acknowledge and thank Charlotte for her friendly service with a smile. We will definitely be back.
