★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was a mint spot to park up last minute on the night, every other camp site was booked and dont even get me started on the freedom site. The owner was warm and very helpful, she had kept open for us and farewelled on departure. Very quiet with the exception of native bird life singing and the train rolling past. Thank you for the stay and i hope to return again for a cold beer and a most relaxing stay.

I had garlic prawn pizza. Yum yum. Hubby had scallops, salad and chips. Wow at least a dozen scallops. Best meal he's had in sth Island so far.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cozy bar and restaurant with camping ground just 10$/each per night with free WiFi, pool table, nice garden and relaxing area. Tania is really helpful and gives you advices where the best walking and hiking tracks are. Take a great little stopover at the Pines Tavern and enjoy a beer on tap.
