★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great day out. A short ferry ride and then options of walking straight to the summit and back or longer more scenic routes. MacKenzie Bays little beach is an unexpected delight after the tough terrain of volcanic rock from the summit.
I hope that DoC has a plan for the serious wasp problem at the summit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a great track for beginners. It's a 2 - 2.5 hours trek up and down. The track is through a ancient lava field. On reaching the top, you could see the Auckland city, which is amazing. The trek is also kids friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice track first time on a hike took couple of breaks in between to enjoy the view explore the lava caves on the way up was cool .make sure to take water and food with you checking ferry timing very important as 3pm last ferry depart from rangitoto plan u r gurney accordingly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice day out for the family. Some parts were quite steep, so a challenge for the younger kids (kids were aged 7, 8, 12, 16), but certainly do-able. It was a very overcast day which was actually awesome - not too hot especially as much of the track is in the open.

is a beautiful volcanic Island.
In the hauraki Gulf Auckland City
A sanctuary for native birds and insects. The summit walk is awesome and the views that you earn for the walk are stunning
I totally agree this walk is well to do.
