β β β β β Service was slack, two people served before me. The first one would've been fine as it was only one drink but the second person got similar drinks and then I heard from other patrons that it had happened to them. Furniture is worn and old and needs replacing too.

β β β β β I was conflicted writing this review. I went here on Friday morning and got an eggs benny and a frappe. Benny was delicious 8/10, frappe was average 4/10.
Came here the next day with my housemates. We all orders drinks and food. Unfriendly to the point of rude service at the counter.
The first drink came out after 30 minute's. We had all food and drinks at just under the 40minute mark. Unacceptable wait time.
Here's the kicker though. The food that morning was practically inedible.
Steak, chips, "salad", eggs, mushroom sauce. 1/10
- Steak was a horrible cut, tough and tasteless
- Not sure what oil they used for the chips, I can only assume it was the wrong bottle
- Salad was a laugh (photo provided)
- Mushroom sauce, wouldn't be surprised if both mushrooms and sauce came from a tin. I had to go and buy a drink elsewhere just to wash the taste out
The ice chocolate would have been better as a few spoons of Milo and milk, not sure what they use for it to make it taste as it does. 2/10
All in all we will never be returning and I STRONGLY recommend you not bother going.
Easily the worst meal I've had since being in New Zealand

β β β β β I totally ignore a review or two about the waffles and because I been to a similar place like this in Auckland - and I really had high hopes for this place. The Service was - meh !. Even thou I was being really nice. The old man couldn't be bothered to show any appreciation. My only guess, he could be having a bad day. I ordered the x2 waffles, with vanilla ice cream and an extra shot of milk chocolate & x1 white chocolate milkshake which all came too $38.70.
Anyways, I ended up with x2 waffles with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate - wft ??. So i went back to counter and advise the old man that I said that I wanted icecream on the waffles not whipped cream. He looked even more lost than before. Nevertheless, I didnt want to be that person to ruin his day. So i asked him if i could get x2 bowls of vanilla ice cream. AGAIN, he got my order wrong. At this point I couldn't bothered to argue to with him. I paid for x1 bowl of French Vanilla ice cream $3 and headed back to my table. Upon cutting into our waffles, we found it was under cooked and tasted like dough boys (boiled flour). I was really really really disappointed. My son was questioning their service and food - saying how appalling everything was. So, we ended up eating our icecream and some parts of the waffles (where most of the milk chocolate was sitting). My milkshake eventually came - after I reminded the staff, it was nice (the milkshake). We couldn't finish eating our waffles because it was YUCK. The 1 Star rating is for the waffles and the service we received.

β β β β β Went in for lunch the guy serving us was very rude abrupt & lacked good customer service skills.
I noticed they had 2 staff members work the front on a Sunday with a full house & was abit shocked.
He told us food would be a 20 minute wait but we waited over 40 minutes for our drinks alone & our food came 20 minutes after and was very average for the price.
Wonβt recommend & wonβt be coming back here which is unfortunate because I love the one in chartwell!

β β β β β We went for lunch here today and as usual the food was really yummy and beautifully presented. In our opinion it is the best cafΓ© in Hamilton central and their homemade ginger beer is to die for with a hint of lemon flavour and little pieces of juicy ginger at the bottom of the glass. The staff are very efficient and courteous and it was nice to chat to the owner too who is a quiet introvert who loves cooking.

β β β β β This coffee place is bit pricy at center place. Never paid that sort of amount for only two coffees definitely they are attracting a lot of foot traffic but does not mean charging extra is fair. Just recommending to oversight their pricing and make it competitive with other cafes. Otherwise there are a lot of other cafes around this place.
