★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For a place that claims they’re ‘big on customer service’ I was extremely disappointed - just look at the receipt handed to me by the owner himself.
For context I came in to have my two front tyres changed. They did well with one no complaints about that however the other wheel was not handled well. The owner claimed that the bolt was rounded and so could not be taken out, fine. However, without my consent they tried to weld it off unsuccessfully which caused further damage to the bolt and no solution (photo for proof). The owner then told me I had to go somewhere else to get it removed so they can change the tyre - having to pay the extra cost myself. Some words were exchanged and finally the owner agreed that if I can find the replacement bolt he will pay for the cost to remove it. However here are the issues still.
1. He did not ask for my consent to weld the bolt off - and I believe asking for consent before doing work is a universal mechanics practice. Had he asked me I would have said to leave it as all I really needed to get done at that time to pass my WOF was the one wheel. We would not have had any issues and left it at that.
2. What was his game plan by trying to weld the bolt? If he did manage to take it off it would be damaged already so what would he have used when he was able to put on the new wheel as I’m assuming he didn’t have a replacement bolt since he’s sending me off to find a replacement on my own.
3. I don’t believe the ‘customer is always right’ but to be handed a receipt calling me a ‘prick’ is an extremely questionable act coming from a so-called professional.
Anyways, a family friend was able to take it off simply using a heat gun and oil. No damage, no drama. Go figure.
