★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Modern, extremely well kept and a most excellent place to have a big group get-together.
The grounds are big enough for kids to run around, a 'play area' for them as well. Mostly though the kids with us stayed down one end of the lodge and us adults up at the other - worked perfectly.
Oh, and yes, there is an outside spa, the cherry on top.
Wholeheartedly recommend this space.
Thanks to Karen for looking after us all and making sure we were good (and then leaving us to it :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic venue for large gatherings. We had 25 guests stay with us for a 60th Birthday celebration. The views are beautiful with private surroundings.
Each bedroom has its own ensuite which is a real bonus.
The spa worked a treat and the kitchen was well set up for catering for a large number of people.
We had 4 children staying and the facility offered them a great experience with plenty of room inside and out to be children.
We would like to thank Karen for being so friendly and helpful - she is a true asset to the facility.
We highly recommend this venue and hope to use it again in the near future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So, keep in mind that this is a lodge, and it's owned by Auckland Grammar, and it's unattended so you're on your own.
I stayed for a training camp, and for his purpose it was excellent! Yes the rooms are bunks...but each room has its own bathroom. And cooking facilities are excellent. And the event room was perfect for what we did.
I really enjoyed my time...good accommodation, good people, good food. If your a monk looking for a solo retreat, maybe not for you. If you have a big group headed to the mountains? Perfect!
