★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome genuine natural geothermal baths/hot springs. This used to be just a spot you could stop on the side of the road but the trustees had to close it as it was being abused (some people leaving rubbish/broken glass etc & generally spoiling it for everyone else) and now reopened with additional facilities. There are toilets (composting) on the baths & car-park side and the whole bathing area has been built up so it's a bit deeper with stairs & a ramp into the hot water as well as changing sheds and a proper car park. The water itself is about a meter deep with a sandy bottom with the hot stream coming in on one side, cold on another and an outlet at the far end. It can be deceptively hot at the ramp area but is cooler further in. There is some weird sludge/slime floating in the water but this is a natural geothermal spring so it's to be expected and you won't be putting your head under anyway. There is no running water on-site to rinse off with but the lady in the office does have cold bottled water you can buy. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Expect that the water may stain your togs. Personally I think the $10 entry fee is a bit steep compared to facilities at Tikitere but understand there are costs and I don't mind paying for the odd visit as it's less crowded and contributes to local iwi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great natural hot pool. Been coming here since I was a kid and it was free. How ever it is resonably priced, and there has been a lot of value added. The carpark is maintained and there are toilets and changing rooms. Honestly worth the $8, if you can try go on a clear night, beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Natural springs that have not been commercialized. Good for a long soak. I love that it is quite basic and rustic with reeds and not crowded. There are floaties on the top but it's not what you imagine. I understand it is iron. Well worth a visit

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is so natural and cosy hot pool. Do not expect any convinience facilities in the place but it gives you so relex moment in the pure natual hot water. What I love most is ground under the hot pool is worm and hot so it also allow you to relext your ancles and knees.
it only knee high depth so good for all ages.
it will be 6 stars if it were allowed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Large hot outdoor 'pond' of hot spring water, knee to thigh high, with odd bits of floating algae. Very healing. Ramp or steps access. Basic facilities (changing sheds, toilet, bbq table) and quiet (mainly local iwi). Off the beaten track and not for everyone but thats how I like it, and spiritually special vibes surrounded by nature.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very enjoyable and reasonably priced, must do experience. We loved our time in the springs and they were a great reminiscence for my 73 year old dad. Bigger, and clearer signage would be my only recommendation for improvement. Just so lovely enjoying the 49.5°C springs in their natural state
