In April, large areas of the bush smell like farts. The waterfall view is nice, there is a large boulder nearby.

This is a lovely walk. Slightly challenging with the gradient and the stairs but nothing a 5 minute rest didn't fix. The view of the mountain from the boardwalk is well worth the effort. The Falls were nice. If the water was lower I would have ventured across the stream for a better look on the other side, the more nimble would have managed this easily as it was. The tracks, paths and stairs are in excellent condition. Child friendly for probably 5-6yrs plus (if you don't want to carry them). I would like to come back in winter when there is some snow on the ground.

Waterfall was small due to lack of melting ice from the mountain during autumn in April 2022. Nevertheless trail to waterfall is awesome, especially the winding board walk that crosses the wetlands tussok area. There's quite a bit of stairs to climb both on the way and heading back, but most can handle with some fitness.

Great walk to the falls. The kids loved the wooden bridge and the open boardwalk at the summit of the trail. The falls are beautiful and we stopped for a sandwich and drink at the lower stream. Lots of steps so young ones (under 6) might find it a little tiring with all the climbing.

Approx 90 min walk to falls, quite hardgoing in places but a challenge and worth it when your there.. this is where one scene from Lord of the Rings was filmed with Gollum in the water ? ?

This was a really nice walk and the waterfall definitely didn’t disappoint. However, I think my favourite part would have to had been the view of the mountain from the boardwalk section! Absolutely stunning!! So I would recommend waiting for a clear day to do this walk.

Beautiful track. A bit of snow along the way. Snowfall at the top but enough visibility to take amazing pictures of the view and the mount. Highly recommend if you want a good hike

Absolutely stunning walk. Can't recommend this enough. Probably the best waterfall I've ever seen in NZ. Once you make it to the water, make sure you walk up closer to the falls. Its like an amphitheater up close and very powerful. We found it easier to walk up the left side of the bank and river. But be prepared to get your feet wet.
