 At the beginning of the tunnel we were able to see a car wreck that was left behind. Something bad for the environment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a beautiful and short single lane tunnel for photography, this pioneer tunnel was the main access to the Makahu and Puniwhakau Valleys in the early 1900s. The tunnel is about 10 minutes detour from the Forgotten World Highway (State Highway 43). This place is indeed the Forgotten World, there's nobody but us the whole journey.
