★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a fairly flat walk through "never logged" very large rims trees. There are very few such large rimu elsewhere. 2 to 3 days to whanganui river and back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome track for a few days hike, the scenery at Pouri hut was amazing, definitely reccomend waking up for sunrise to see the sunrise next Mt Ruapehu. I reccomend hiking to Mt Humphries as well (It's just a quick 20 minute jog from the junction) as the panoramic views are awesome. The only complaint was the state of track, as it was super muddy in many places along the whole track, although I found it fine, many other's may not like all of the mud on the tracks.
