The food is authentic - You must order: RE GAN MIAN (Hot Dry Noodle) and DOU PI (Bean Skin) typical Wuhan food. The only downside is the cleanness.

I have not been to Wuhan Cafe yet, but I was here to condemn the user called "Frank Leng" who left a disgusting photo of the bat soup. My dear fellow Kiwi, by using our common sense, it is clear that this restaurant do not use bats as ingredients, not to say in 2020. I have no clue why this "highly educated gentleman" would do such a disgraceful thing to destroy the reputation of this restaurant which is experiencing such a difficult time. I suggest every one who agree with me, can complain Frank Leng's photo/case to Google. I am happy to try some food in this restaurant. And to people who choose not to, I truly wish that at least we can do not evil. God bless Wuhan Cafe, and God bless New Zealand! # If you have some doubts of my words, just check remarks of "Frank Leng" leaving for other restaurants. I am pretty sure you will be surprised how vicious a person can be.

The food itself is actually not bad - I used to travel all the way from West Auckland (and then Northland) just to have their spicy duck neck to enjoy in my own time at home. There are two different flavours I think, one is very spicy and the other is a little sweet but still spicy. I also tried other dishes that my friend from Wuhan city introduced to me, and they were yummy. The noodles were pretty basic but tasted good. The pork on potatoes are quite unique and didn't taste fatty and oily as I expected at all. What really lets them down is the service. Everytime I walk in, they look like they're in a bad mood. Last time I went, they didn't even look up from their phones to say hello so we just seated ourselves down. Was very tempted to go elsewhere. The table cleanliness was okay, had the usual containers of soy sauce and vinegar, (I think? Or maybe it was chilli oil? Can't remember) and tissues, which are always handy when eating spicy food. The toilet was not very clean and smelt a bit funny (but then all do). I've never tried wuhan food and would probably go again but it's not on the top of the list. That duck neck might be in the top ten though!

I ordered a simple Taro milk bubble tea and it took them 25 minutes to get it ready. Then the lady says "shake it so the milk and the taro jelly mix together". It was not appealing, so I basically threw $11 into the rubbish bin tonight. Sorry guys!

Very poor service. Littered with used cutleries (wish I saw them first). After paying, they kept chatting and only started cooking after about 5 minutes. Do not recommend.

Terrible marinated duck wings i’ve ever tested , I am sure it’s been in the fringe for a long time! super hard and salty meat. This kind of food costs you $13 for 10 pieces...... The lady or (owner) warmed up these wings, put in foam takeaway box directly… NEVER EVER COME BACK AGAIN. Thanks
