★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We read the DOC website and expected toilets and potentially a shower. We showed up and no toilets and no shower. A sign of the fence added late 2020 said all campers needed to bring your own toilet. Stayed at the motor home 2ks down the road for $20/person

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful spot and fully booked around New Years. 6kms off the main road and surrounded by bush and farmland. On either side of the campground are endangered Dotterell nesting sites which are prone to disturbance from beach goers unaware of their existence. There are DOC signs but fencing is probably needed to protect them. The camp is well equipped with essential goods and services. Friendly staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing DOC campsite in a stunning location only available for self contained campers as the facilities are minimal but the location totally compensates for the lack of typical amenities available in other holiday parks/campgrounds. One of the few DOC campsites that allow pets. The most beautiful bay along the Gisborne coast is a stone throw away. As serene and calm as it is remote. Loved every minute of our stay here.
