β β β β β I popped into the store while on holiday in Christchurch. The staff were really helpful and efficient organising getting the glasses to me back in Taranaki. The glasses came quickly and were exactly what I wanted. I would have no problem recommending Bailey Nelson Optometrist - Riccarton.

β β β β β The manager of the riccarton branch does a beautiful job with her team in store. Was really lovely to see such a positive work environment for the team members, very efficient service and a CLEAN store! I manage a sunglass store a few doors down and am thoroughly impressed. 10/10 for me!! Keep up the good work guys!

β β β β β It's obvious that Bailey Nelson sets a very high standard of customer service that they usually meet, and I admire that a lot. However, in my one and a half years as a customer at the Riccarton branch starting from 2020, too many times things didn't go well for me to say that I had such a great time experience.
1. The main pair of glasses I first ordered with them turned out to be unwearable for me, due to being an unsuitable bridge length for me, the glasses themselves sliding off my face constantly, not much help from getting them adjusted in store because adjusting helped for up to 30 minutes before they reverted shape or something within the hour, and being too painful near the ears to wear for more than a few hours, and Bailey Nelson not offering things like silicone sleeves (I ordered elsewhere online instead) to help. Long story short, if you have atypical needs, the store people might not have the expertise to help you order the right thing, in which case there is no help for you afterwards either except free unlimited adjustments that start to hold for less than a week.
2. The regular occurrences of "oh your contact lenses have arrived but wait no only for one of your eyes, but here's a free sample and come back and collect for your other eye later."
3. Ordering my first pair of soft contact lenses ever, being partway through the process and then suddenly not getting any updates for a whole month. (Turns out my optometrist was on holiday.)
4. One of their optometrists had zero listening skills, and by that I mean I asked her to adjust my glasses in a certain way, she ignored my input, talked over me, then kept repeating the same thing again and again telling how it was working. It didn't work, I just walked out of the store since I was getting nowhere.
5. The updates on my contacts arriving were way off one time, so I asked them to redirect to the new branch at the city I was moving to. They agreed, then didn't manage to redirect it, then asked me to collect from the original branch after all when they could easily still have posted to the new branch within a very reasonable timeframe.

β β β β β From the moment I booked the appointment the communication was excellent. Alec was friendly helpful and efficient when sorting my glasses choices. My eye exam was the most thorough Iβd experienced and he made me feel totally at ease. Really appreciate the great service.

β β β β β Excellent service and range here. Went in for a quick look and was really impressed with the very helpful and friendly service I received. Picked out some frames and got in to see an optometrist very quickly. The optometrist was excellent and very friendly and helpful. Got my glasses very quickly and they were perfect. 10/10 would highly recommend, thank you.

β β β β β The minute I walked into the store to the minute I walked out the service was excellent and the staff member(sorry I donβt know your name!) was very helpful and made me feel comfortable taking the time with me to choose my new glasses , ordering them and then picking them up, I only had received a message about 1 pair but luckily the staff member checked for my second pair so I didnβt have to come back again! The after care for the glasses was very much appreciated so thank you! I donβt usually leave reviews but I wanted to make sure this staff member was acknowledged for her lovely friendly service!
