Bunnings team members regularly conduct D.I.Y. Workshops for local community groups, like schools and kindergartens, nursing homes and hospitals.
Our teams can head out and visit a community group, or welcome a community group into the D.I.Y. area for a workshop.
Workshops are tailored for the needs of each community group and can include gardening, craft, woodwork, water and energy saving activities, as well as kids activities.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very few staff on checkout, often only one, leaving even the self checkout unusable. Excuse today was covid causing staff shortages but this was the case well before the outbreak.Staff joking around in the aisles could perhaps be better use on their couches at home. On two occasions previously where I did click and collect, it was pointless with only one staff member on both times and a queue of people waiting to purchase in store and no one to give me my pre purchased order. Mitre 10 might have less range but they are consistently available and a heck of a lot more friendly.

Fat white lady at the exit today greet and say thank you to (one certain type of) customers while they are leaving. but she frowns, ignores Asian customers like they are invisible. Very different ways to treat your customers. Having a RACIST standing at your front door. Interesting.

Had no idea about lawn dressing, lawn feed, veggie fertilisr, etc. Simply point you to the shelves and say.. there are your choices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great experience when dealing with three staff - Vanesa, Josh and Saarah. I had called to hold a product that was listed as in stock on the website. When I arrived, I was informed that the website had an error and the product wasn’t available in Auckland. Despite this, they were able to find a viable alternative and offer a discount on that for the trouble. They were genuinely apologetic and even offered us a coffee as a gesture. A great customer service experience that will ensure my return business. Thanks team!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was there yesterday on a Saturday afternoon. The store is busy with customers but felt very clustered inside and hard to get through. Minimal service with self checkout and not many staff around to answer your questions. Looked like they have 1 staff for each department, including popular ones such as bathroom, painting. I was there around 4pm Saturday afternoon. Couldn't find a staff who was free to assist me. Gave up waiting after 10mins. This was with me proactively walking around looking for someone, anyone to ask questions. A bit disappointed . Not a good customer experiences and no where near those Bunnings TV ads.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most staff were helpful and nice. One was the total opposite. She was very rude and evil (totally giving off racist vibes!). She went from treating me like a disease and not wanting to help me, to suddenly acting like shes helping!? She was even getting uncomfortably close, which was the complete opposite of what she was doing when I approached her – she had quickly moved away from me and gave me an ugly look and I wasnt even close to her. Anyway, it was when my partner appeared from the next aisle and at the same time a nice, friendly staff member pulling a big tall step ladder?...was passing whilst apologizing and thanking us (for moving) and being very cheerful when, the rude staff member suddenly changed! Not only did she start getting frustratingly close to us but, she was annoyingly rude trying to get me to take a product she claims to be what I was looking for! It wasn't even close! My partner had no idea there was a problem till he noticed she kept appearing behind us standing back to back with us. I then explained to him that it was probably because she was rude to me and made it clear (by her actions and facial expressions) that she didn't want me anywhere near her and is now trying to make out that it didn't happen by getting too close! Ugghh pathetic! I will stick to mitre10 from now on! That's my first and last time visiting Bunnings Albany!
