★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Here's one out of the box. We as a family used to stay here 60 odd years ago, when it was called "Surfers Lodge". The two story building used to be the home for the owner , back in the day. The units we used to stay in, to the right as you drive in , still look very much the same today

Was very clean though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little disappointed since we last stayed some years ago,clean but dated,needs love and $$ spent on it.Great location but lost its cosy motel look even from the driveway ,constant dripping shower head drove me mad,thank goodness for interleading doors and the sound of the waves.Wifi struggled to connect and definitely a ‘contactless ‘ arrival.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This motel is very run down. Rear stairs on the units by the beach are unsafe and rotten and extremely rusty
Bed was very uncomfortable and springs made lots of noise.. did not get a good night's sleep
Room above stomped around all night keeping us up
Only positive thing is the view but that does not help you sleep

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed for two nights in room 15. When we entered our studio unit we were immediately confronted with a overwhelming strong putrid damp smell. The room was very outdated. The bathroom had no window in it and no ventilation extraction fan. The door was an open louvre door much the same as you would have on a pantry.
The interior overall needs a complete makeover with the kitchen area very outdated and when looking at all the buildings from the outside they all need a lot of maintenance done.
The cost was 165/night which I think is over priced, even though the complex is located right next to the beach and short walk to the shops.
After reading reviews about this motel and especially about room 15 it is apparent that the owners or managers are just clipping the ticket and not putting anything back into the maintenance side of things. This motel gave us the worst experience we have ever had when traveling around the country.
