We are the Mitsubishi & Subaru specialists. Elite Automotive new work shop is now at 29 Pirani Place – Palmerston North. We are a fully approved repairer for all the major warranty companies such as Protecta, Autosure, Vero Warranty, Lumley and AA Warranty. As an NZTA registered WOF centre, we are able to make sure your car or trailer is safe and legal on the road. We have courtesy cars available if you need to leave your vehicle with us and still require transport. (bookings essential, subject to availability).
With many years of experience, an up the minute diagnostic scanner and access to top technical data, we can solve all your automotive problems. All our work is backed by comprehensive MTA warranty. We can service and repair a wide range of vehicles including cars, 4WD and light commercials.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had an insurance job with them that happened on the 21st December, this was the only garage that was open and had loan cars (in hindsight I think I know why!), I told them 3 times to contact my insurance company to get the claim moving along, they didn't do this. They told me it was fixed, I went and test drove the vehicle, it was clearly not fixed, a very rude mechanic told me it will "probably sort itself".
When it came to the bill, they still hadn't contacted the insurance company and they wanted me to pay cash instead of going through insurance. When I told the guy I didn't believe it was fixed, he got extremely aggressive and was shouting and swearing. His wife had to hold him back from attacking me.
His wife and I think son apolagised and tried to smooth things over, but honestly, I've never witnessed anything like this.
If you are young or a young woman, don't risk it and go here, I genuinely fear for your safety.
This place won't be open much longer with kind of behaviour. Be safe, and go anywhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently booked my vehicle in for a Service with Elite, and needed a Belt and Idler replacement also. Over the phone I was quoted $220-$250 for the Service, and $250 for the Belt and Idler.
I specifically asked to be called if this particular job was going to go over the quoted amount, to which the owner responded "You will definitely receive a call, you don't need to worry about that".
After the work was completed, I was handed a bill for twice the quoted amount for the Belt and Idler job, as a tensioner also needed replacing, even though I had received no calls or texts about this as I had requested and been assured I would receive, if the job was going to exceed the quoted amount. When I asked why I hadn't been called, the owners response was "I wasn't here for majority of the day", "I just didn't get round to it", and "I don't even remember the amount I quoted as I didn't write it down".
I understand that mechanics has some wiggle room, and that quotes can not always be met if extra needs doing, however I had not received a call about this prior to receiving the bill which was my issue.
Luckily as I was not happy about this overcharge, the owner discounted the overcharge by 50%, which I was pleased with. At this point I was happy to settle the issue and move on. However upon reading the notes on the invoice I received, it mentioned that the service operators "Checked all driver controls and lights for proper function", however both my spot lights and both reverse lights were not operating, and hadn't been for a while, so obviously these were not checked. Makes me wonder what else was overlooked - quite worrying.
Overall disappointing experience and won't be returning.
