I was in a 2 storey house with huge kitchen and lounge area to myself. This is a house which has been split into apartments. I was in the 3 bedroom section. Great view through the most today. A bargain for me due to circumstances.....

We have stayed here a number of times over the past few years. It is a nice location to stay at however I agree with some of the comments made about the manager in regards to his manner and how he treats people. He doesn't have a good repor and always seems to be in a hurry like we are an inconvenience to him. I would of thought with the number of times we have stayed that there would atleast be a cheerful hello nice to see you again but there never is. We arrived just before 2:30pm hoping to be allowed in so I checked where the keys usually are and there was one in the letter box there was also a laminated sheet with the managers number and 3pm check in so I called him, he didn't pick up so i rung again, I said I no we are early but is there any chance we could get into the place now ( we had traveled quite a distance and just wanted to unpack have a shower and just relax for a while) to this he said No! Check in is at 3pm I said well we are here now which he then cut me off and said No the room isn't ready! I said so we have to wait 30min he said come back at 3pm. I just hung up on him, he made no attempts to try and allow us in a bit earlier, so we went away and came back at 3. I went to the door and was just about to ring when he must of heard us pull up and he came out. He got the same key I had seen earlier in the letter box and handed it to me then proceeded to tell me where we were and how to park our car, he wanted us to move it over but we didn't then he rambled on about all the things we had been told many times before then he asumed I was there by myself I said no I booked 2 people and he saw who I was with then he proceeded to tell me that there is one rule NO visitors. I don't think that is right the Web site doesn't say that, if you want to have someone over to visit we all have that right not to be told that is a rule like we are kids! I think that was utterly rude and uncalled for. The room we had was upstairs above the garage, we have stayed in there before, there was no microwave this time and minamal kitchen ware. When booking, the place offers free WiFi however there is no code or password in the rooms you actually have to contact the manager to get it but all he says is its spark67 and gives you the password however there are 3 different spark 67 so you have to go through each of them which is a pain. I like this place I am just not impressed with the manager.

Arrange to stay here for four nights while we got married, booked the whole place out only to be told that during our stay we would only be allowed a maximum of four people visiting us at one time (consequently this meant our whole bridal party would not be able to visit at once). Manager was incredibly difficult to communicate with and took over a month to respond to any emails. We ended up cancelling the booking three months out and were told this meant we forfeited our payment even though there is no mention of this on their website. If you are looking to stay here because it looks convenient when getting married at Huka Falls Resort, please read ALL the reviews and think very, very carefully before booking. Dont make our mistake.

Funnily enough, I haven't even stayed here. I travel to Taupo a lot, thinking hey if this hotel is nice at least I can come back. Unfortunately I had to cancel my one night because my mother was very ill and I couldn't stay in taupo. So I cancelled my reservation because I had a booking of don't pay till you get there and free cancellation. They still charged me. I rang, they said it was actually the booking websites fault and that it wasn't supposed to be free cancellation, so I forwarded the email as proof that I did have that option, and they agreed that they would refund me. However, still no refund. I've been trying to get through for over six months now, and they just never answer the phones and have blocked all email communications from me I am assuming. So I'm still out over 260 dollars because they refuse to talk to me. I would highly recommend NOT using this hotel as they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They have literally stolen from me.

When booked we actually thought this was a chateau ie big hotel type place but was surprised when we arrived to see it is a bottom section of a larger house. Like a flat I suppose. Lovely place, very well presented & tidy plus two heat pumps to keep the place cozy warm. If I was to point out one negative, & its minor, is the signage was hard to see from the road. Even with an address/directions we were unsure if we had the right place. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in the Duplex for 2 nights this week. As a house it looks great but basically its a house that has been renovated inside to make several apartments. Thin walls, so you can hear the other guests, cheap mattress with wooden base, meant a very hard bed and no electric blanket. The AirCon is turned off between the hours of 10pm-6am, which makes for a very cold bedroom overnight.

Great value for money, spacious living area with very comfortable couches, large bedroom. The shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. Parking a little limited but still adequate. We were in a downstairs room where we had a small private patio and garden area. We would stay here again next time we are in the area.

the room we stayed in was really lovely with a nicely presented bedroom and huge bed, with a lounge and mini kitchenette. this place is actually a house in a new development area (not an actual hotel/motel) and it is not in the centre of Taupo so we were lucky we had a car. there is no reception area or way to get in so we had to awkwardly wait in our car until the owner had came outside with his lawnmower and gave us a key, it was quite a weird impersonal experience checking in otherwise was a nice stay for only $79 a night.
