★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant has stunning views of Wellington and the staff were lovely. The quality of my steak, however, was indifferent and the prices were double those indicated on Accor's own website. Go there for a beer and the vew, though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely food, nice views across the city and very reasonable prices.
There's lift entry from the bottom (off Buller St) and easy parking, we had a great time, and the staff were attentive but not overbearing, would definitely recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a three course meal here it was delicious and the elements of each dish made for a great culinary experience. They had lovely decor, fantastic staff and service and the meals were very timely! Would highly recommend + they have a lovely view overlooking Wellington City which is an added bonus ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ TL;DR: Acceptable food, TERRIBLE service. They weren't even busy. How bad was the service? Forget about me leaving them gratuity, they should give me gratuity.
- Dirty fork on the table to start.
- Only gave us one menu between two people.
- Didn't came around to take our order until we waved them down.
- Literally 30 seconds after we placed our order, they had already forgotten what the order was and we had to tell them again.
- Completely forgot to serve our drinks. Had to remind them what we ordered as well.
- Waved down a waiter to ask for some more water; never got that water.
- Never offered us a dessert menu.
The food was fine, but the service was so terrible it easily trumps any merit that the food offered.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great gluten free options! And an extensive wine menu.
My wife and I came here as part of our anniversary weekend staycation in Welly and loved the food, the service, and the views.
We would recommend to all, especially if you have an entertainment book.
Thanks Forage Kitchen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Forage is a surprise in the Grand Mercure Hotel. Superb interior design instantly reassures the inexperienced hotel diner, with a sleek black bar to welcome you in.
Be warned: the lighting is harsh, and probably intended for the internationals staying upstairs than any local looking for a romantic treat.
Forage's food is on the expensive side with all mains priced above $32, and more likely hovering around $38. The food is worth it though, and the chef has devised a strong menu from Lower North Island ingredients including delicious fish and scallops, succulent pork belly, and mouth-watering lamb. The Caesar salad gets a special mention for being so artful.
Alas, Forage is only let down by its non-food elements. The wine list is not overly complex, a little predictable by NZ region almost. Beers are all stock standard with a dash of hope in the form of Panhead. Service was a bit higgledy-piggledy, with drinks orders taking too long, and plates being cleared before the table had finished.
If you find yourself at Forage, relax and enjoy the food. The highly strung among us will probably end up unnecessarily satisfied.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place?. Happy hour between 5-7pm. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of food. You can watch the sunrise in the morning. Supper time, great meat selection, but only one dish of fish and tofu for vegetarians. No chicken served. No vegan options. Was never offered desert, which seemed not to be on the menu. However the food was excellent
