Most pathetic company in NZ Called their toll-free number 8 times... no one answered. Called their Christchurch number which appears to be no longer in service. How do they expect to run a successful business if they can't get the basics right. Invest in personnel who knows what they're doing or this business will soon be history.

Really bad value for what you pay and we couldn't even change to self contained camper, super small business and not many cars. We payed over 4k for the rental of an old Toyota which had a rusty old fridge and the condition of the car wasn't great overall. Bold back tyres, brakes felt like haven't been changed for over a year, bad clutch and gear box. I saw the owner drive off in a new Mercedes though. Total mess really, waited for an hour to pick up our cat as well. No way of doing business and offering good value to people, especially when they rent a car for more then a month, should be given a safe vehicle with all the basics been tuned up and in great working condition, assuming that the vehicle would be driven around the whole country, which doesn't have the greatest roads. We were lucky there was no rain, otherwise could have got in an accident a few times with such bad brakes and all. Would never recommend these guys. Never again.

Horrible experience. Our vans water didn’t even work so we kept having to spend extra to use holiday parks to wash our dishes. When we explained it to customer service rep Lisa in Auckland she was EXTREMELY rude and didn’t offer any type of compensation. You don’t get what you pay for and end up paying way more than you expect. Go with another company

Initial thoughts were they were a great company. But after picking up the vehicle many of the items in the car were unsatisfactory and broken. The inside of the van hadn’t been cleaned from the previous hirer either. Super dusty and rubbish left in the car. After returning the vehicle they completely ripped us off for some very, very minor damage. What ever happened to people being fair? NEVER AGAIN will we use Tui. Major downer to our trip to beautiful NZ by being treated this way.

There’s reason its cheap. I would never hire from this company again. No after-hours help, not even an answerphone. Extremely poor & excruciatingly slow service. Rugged old vehicle. We even had a rat scurrying around behind the dash to keep us company all night. Eventually it disappeared or at least went quiet. Maybe it wanted to move to Taranaki and hitched a ride. Our apologies to the native birds of the taranaki region. When someone did answer the phone during office hours, they couldn’t help us at all. Other than by suggesting we try using peanut butter to coax the rat out. They also suggested I could attempt to pull apart the dashboard myself to find the rat, and if I damaged it they would understand as I wasn’t a trained mechanic. I did not attempt this. They never offered any form of compensation for our experience with the rodent. The campervan we hired was a 3 berth, it seats 5, but only sleeps 3, well you could put 2 more in an awning out the back... if they can find it. We tried to ask for the awning 4 days before we travelled, received emails telling us the cost and we replied saying we were keen to hire it, but when we picked up the van they didn’t have it ready and in fact couldn’t find the awning. The staff member I dealt with was friendly, but she was over loaded with work and it took us almost an hour to pick up the vehicle and almost as long to drop off. While we were there I watched other customers wait even longer. They need more staff on front of house duty. Both times we arrived at their Auckland office there was no-one there. There was no bell to call, we waited ten minutes until the staff member walked in. When we did the drop off I saw a couple more staff pop in, but none came to help the waiting customers. In this case you get what you pay for. It’s low cost because they don’t have enough staff, have little to no support, use old rough vehicles, and everything takes a long time. I for one will try paying more with another company for hopefully better service next time.

Basically we got what we paid for. This was the cheapest available on the comparison sites and we got a van with a number of problems. Some minor ones like faulty light switches and half the manual missing we could just about live with. But others like a leaky roof (and consequently wet floor) did interrupt our holiday with unwanted inconveniences. On top of this the 'manager', Aaron, at Christchurch, was extremely unsympathetic, rude and unhelpful, only doing the basics of his job when we insisted on it. If you want to save money, this is an option, but be prepared!

van was faulty, water kept running out like something was leaking, we had to keep filling up water. When we picked up campervan it was like never vacuumed, very dirty, i had to clean the van as we were going with my 2 young kids. Heater didnt even work, it just blew out cold air. To end our trip, manager at Auckland, Mangere branch was just so unprofessional, no customer service skills, maybe take a course on how to deal with the customers because shes so rude!!!! Maybe the "manager" should check vehicles to make sure everything is working and its clean, then sort her attitude out. Not using this place ever again!!!! Just a quick reply to the "manager" no i didnt change my story it was the same reason to your head office and to yourself. BUT my rating still stands as you do have poor customer service and the campervan did have all faults AND maybe with covid19, put something into place for the situation i was in!!!! it may not have happen before, but you need to be a little more understanding because family emergency does happen! My husband is just a very positive person. Please dont reply, take in what other reviews have put down about you and work on yourself!

I don't know why reviews are so low for this company. I had a 3 berth van rented for 28 days and it was my favorite trip during my time here. Staff in both branches were incredible, friendly and super helpful! Highly recommend.
