So this is an amazing location. The view of the lake with the mountain in the backdrop. It is amazing and so beautiful. Find yourself a good parking spot and enjoy the view and live the life in wild with no animals around. It is serene and peaceful. A silence that quenches the soul.We spent two nights camping here.

Beautiful place The toilet i managed to find (in the pic) was only next to the main road at the parking lot (which you can't sleep in) the campaign site is on the lake side, You get there with a rough road

It was an excellent place to freedom camp for me. I walked in with a backpack off of the TA. Lots of sites were taken with campers and caravans but I found a good one and might have gotten lucky but it worked out great absolutely gorgeous views. I had to pull my water from the Lake, and also there are a couple of car parks that have pit toilets

Great place to stop for a picnic or just take a break from driving. very secluded spot and the views are fantastic on a nice day. There are a number of small places that are hidden from the main road that are quiet for camping. The bike track runs right past this stop. If this comment is helpful give it a like :-)

Incredibly beautiful views of mount cook if you can rinse the right spot for your camper . Be warned this place is not to be used if you are not self contained. Even though their is a toilet by the roadside viewing point. There are no facilities otherwise. I was fortunate enough to pitch up and stay for the evening but was asked to move on politely around 8am. Very beautiful views all around and very chilly if your fancying an swim or a nature wash. Their is a doc campsite closer to mount cook.

Very easy to get to, 3km down a gravel road beside the canal. The first entrance is quite steep but if you keep going there is a friendlier entrance. Lots of space and amazing views of the snow capped mountains. No sandflies which was a nice surprise, only down side is that the swans and ducks are complete chatterboxes and never stopped all night. Beautiful scenery, the lake itself is nothing special when compared to Tekapo, Pukaki and Ohau but a nice safe spot to camp for a few days and no charge.
