The Funky Duck is operated by daughter and father team Bex Carr and Dave Hill. Bex has a background as a chef and chocolatier and is passionate about serving delicious homemade tasty food. Dave has had experience in many successful businesses and recently ran Fiesta Court Motel, he also has spent over Thirty years in the media industry including radio and newspaper.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been to Funky Duck Café few times, last visit with friends from Wellington not the best, $25 for eggs benedict with two eggs and bit of bacon seems overpriced. Very weak Flat white and cappuccino with way too much milk the worst coffee we have had in Wanganui. All food seems overpriced compared to other cafes in Wanagnui.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food and coffee very good, however I'd made a reservation for a certain table but the boss had not reserved it when we arrived so staff said take any table which we did. Just finishing off lunch and boss came over and asked us to finish up as there was a booking for that table . Told our table we reserved had not been reserved, he carried on walking away. Only when we were leaving did he apologize. Not the best of customer service by him. Other staff members were great though. Five stars for for staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A passing stop from Hawke's Bay to New Plymouth. Plenty of ducks following you and especially around the cafe. Easy to find, typical cabinet food and great coffee. Sit outside in the sun under an umbrella and enjoy the view, and ducks at your side! Great place to check out on a journey.
