★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The view is not amazing (it was not sunny and it was late in the afternoon, though). If you are heading to the water fall track further ahead or have a special appreciation about Abel Tasman, a quick stop is not going to be harmful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the bay where the first European Abel Tasman stopped his ship for a few days in mid 17 century. Beautiful spot, a lot of useful info written on the memorial. Short walk from the asphalt, probably 30-40 m. Small car park though, just for 3-4 cars. Nice amalgam of sea and moountain. Rural New Zealand at its best.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simply put beautiful. A quite bay with easy access to the water. Beautiful scenery abounds. Great for morning walks along the water. Fresh air and beautiful light. We stayed up on the hill overlooking the bay, outstanding.
