β β β β β Great hike, lots of different species of birds to see, along with some sheep. The best part is the picnic tables at the top where the fantails hop all around you.

β β β β β This is a must visit place if you are planning to come to Tauranga region. There are several stunning scenic views around the mount. You can also enjoy international cuisines and bars on the other side of the mount. Just go out and chill. Stay safe and be kind :)

β β β β β Great walk up the mount. A decent level of fitness is required. There is no wheelchair access. There are a few routes to the top one if which is climbing lots of steps. Great views of Bay of Plenty.

β β β β β Exercise heaven with the huge reward of a world class view for your efforts. Pretty steep but only 30min walk ( if you're moderately fit) to the summit on a well formed track. Several options for ascent or circuit - all are 5 star. Not much documentation but this is a very significant and culturally important site for local maori.

β β β β β It's been 20years since I last walked up to the summit ( a little bit harder this time around ?) but the view is still worth it, it's stunning!! ?
Even better my Mum came for her 1st time & she's been living in Tauranga for 17 years!
Sometimes you need to play tourist in your own back yard! (Especially in times like this!!) ?

β β β β β The hike to the peak is physically demanding even though you do that in a relaxing manner. But the view on the summit, as well as those on your way up- or down- hill, are worth it!

β β β β β Beautiful view all the way from the base to the top of the summit with a 360 lookout point too. Chance to see people paragliding, surfing, kayaking and swimming all in one place. We drove to the Bay of Plenty for a day trip from Auckland and sure did love it.
Do make sure to carry lots of water, sunscreen and a hat with yourself, as it gets super hot midday. Walk may take about 45 mins on a hot day, but coming down is way quicker ?

β β β β β Absolutely one of the most amazing viewpoints in the area that is a βmust doβ when you are in the Mount Maunganui or Papamoa area!
The panoramic views from the top of the ocean, the beaches, and the surrounding area are simply stunning.
Itβs a little bit of an uphill hike to get to the top, but the trails are well developed with stairs in many places, and it only takes about 30 minutes or less to hike to the top from the base trail.
There are several access points to the overlook trails from Maunganui Beach or from the base trail.
Take the time to walk completely around the base of Mount Maunganui, also. The base trail is fairly flat and easy to hike, and you will see see some amazing scenery as you stroll around.
There is plenty of free parking near the beach, and lots of restaurants and shopping in the beach area, too.
