β β β β β Five stars for the location ! One Star for the facilities and the staff. 18$ without shower, very small and dirty kitchen without table, 2$ for 3minutes for cold or hot shower. Too expensive!

β β β β β We loved it hear! Margaret the owner is great, area is quiet and beautiful.
There arenβt any supermarkets close by so stock up. Great place to fish (my partner caught a shark, threw it back). We rented a fishing rod near by. Facilities very clean and well equipped. Community seems very friendly.
Only things to note are $2 showers and it can get quite loud in the morning with the roosters.

β β β β β Rude person managing this place. Couldn't even be bothered saying Hi, just shouted the price per night through the door. 18$ per person, for that price you can go to way better places near Russel with so much more facilities that are cleaner and managed by friendly people.

β β β β β You can meet camp mother here. She is friendly, welcomes you with a warm heart. Far from the city and campground just next to the seashore. There should be some maintenance needed on toilets and kitchen

β β β β β Awesome Bay of Islands Camping Ground. This is a community project - with all profit going back to local projects. This is real deal Far North local, not one of those campgrounds that seem to be some extension of a North Shore suburb. My campsite was under the trees and a quick minute from the sandy beach. Protected small bay - ideal for swimming. Good fishing as well - caught a couple of snapper of the rocks. Facilities have had a revamp with a cool outside dining/BBQ area, and a freshen up of the shower block. The kitchen is a bit small but has all the necessary stuff, there is a washing machine out the back. This is a unique New Zealand experience. Not to be missed if you around the Bay of lslands / Russell area.
