β β β β β We went in and the waitress was gonna give us the window seat , then the manager told her to gives another table. A couple walked between us the table was given to them. However, the table wasnβt reserved
They took a long time to take the order , they brought our drinks after about 25 mins which was bottled beers
I asked the waitress twice for our entree , to my surprise the salsa roja with chips was below average.
It was tomato purΓ©e with lime juice. When consulted the waitress she mentioned itβs mellowed down to kiwi taste. I wasnβt aware kiwiβs donβt like onion , garlic or coriander on their salsa
One plus was the taco which was great .we planned to have a three course meal but then we stopped with the entrees. Overall very poor service and experience
This restaurant is not highly recommended

β β β β β Really lovely atmosphere. Interesting sayings hanging from the walls. Service was very quick and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would go again next time we are in Whanganui.

The pork belly taco was amazing.
Could have eaten 6 easy.
You get the feeling kitchen is serving fresh seasonal ingredients from the taste.
FYI ...Vegan menu also available which is very tasty.
We will be back for sure.

My favourites are the pork tacos, beef cheek tacos, southern chicken, and ribs. The vegan options are awesome too.
Would be nice to see a better designed kids menu, like a small serve of a protein with chips for $10 as it doesn't cater well to young children who don't eat much.
The thing that impresses me most is that they are continually working improve their food and service. Gets better every visit ?

β β β β β The "Suicide Bomber Chicken" was delicious, but definitely not for people who don't enjoy spicy food. Portion sizes were good, and reasonably priced. Churros were excellent.

β β β β β We went over the Easter weekend so the staff told us the kitchen was 15-20 behind, which sounded ok for us. But reality was way different... They took around 10-15 minutes only to take the order (the first time). After 25 minutes I asked another waitress how much longer where they to at least the entry - a simple guacamole and chips... She came back saying that our order was mixed up with someone else's and she took it again. The same waitress came back 5 -10 minutes after, for taking the order for a 3rd time. We finally waited 1 hour since we sat down to get our entry.... No apologies or explanations whatsoever.
Food was ok, but honestly nothing special or great. The salad was very small and the chicken fajita's only good thing was the chicken all the sides were average, as you might see in the photos. In my personal everything we tried was overpriced, just not worth the price or the wait.
Unfortunately I would not recommend it.

β β β β β Brilliant decor, as good as the food. Tacos were fresh with an amazing blend of flavours, suicide chicken was perfectly hot and cooked to perfection. This from people who don't usually eat Mexican because its usually average to poor in New Zealand. A must visit in Whanganui!
