★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No warden meant people were loud and partying too late. When checking in were not aware of any info about the place not where to setup. Place is also quite unclean especially the bbq area. Can’t drink the water but outside by the hall there is a tap that has fresh water. Also no shop. Overall Marokopa is a stunning place however this bring an unmanned campsite counts against this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not far from the beach. About 700m from the ocean about 200m from the sand and River. Nice campground. Book in advance also no access without a kiwicash token. No store or petrol station. Make sure you take everything you need with you. Closest store is Waitomo, closest petrol is Otorohonga just over an hour drive away. No stores in town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing campsite. You do need to purchase your kiwi tags before heading out otherwise you won't be able to get in also need to top them up with enough money to use showers. Clean, tidy we were surprised to see a fridge as it was not mentioned but very much needed. The only thing I would suggest is to invest in a few more picnic tables otherwise an amazing stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always love the area for the fishing but wasn't the greatest being kept up till the early hours of the morning with just one lot of people partying and then waking up to our ute being toilet papered wasn't very impressed also the facilities could do with some tlc

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome campground, our first time using the KiwiCash system by KiwiCamp. Really easy to use, toilets and showers were spotless (Wasn’t expecting that). Laundry was ok but we couldn’t get the dryer to work and it still charged us. Nice big campsites with power. We had the place to ourselves and felt safe. Make sure you purchase your Kiwi Cash tag before hand and top it up (or book online) as there is no cell phone reception out there

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The village is a place to visit. It is a time travel back to the 60ties. And so is the campground. The facilities are due for renovation or replacement for some while now. It is all working but it has seen a lot of people using it in its lifetime already.
