★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a fantastic spot right by the river, has public toilets and multiple camping spots spread out over the area so you can still camp away from people, or drive further down the road and camp in the Bush, beware mosquitos , they are in abundance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quiet place beside the river to rest. Toilet facilities, rubbish in rubbish out. Very peaceful except for the ravenous sand fly, so slip, slap, slop the insect repellant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Plenty of flat ground to park on. Saw a robin on the piano flat loop track. There was also a couple kereru hanging around the camp. Visited mid February and the sandflies were out of control - repellent didn't even seem to put them off. Beautiful river, clear with fish in it. Super cold though.
