★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed for 1 night in January and my partner and I disappointed. The pool was closed as were the spas (the whole reason why we booked) as such we wouldn't recommend booking here and if you are I would call up first to confirm that the spa and pool will be open - we both felt that they had been closed awhile and they just hadn't updated there website.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointing, we travelled a long way and booked specifically for the use of the pools which we found out weren’t in use when we arrived (it would have been nice if this was or warned when booking). Even with not many other guests we got placed in a tiny room which was definitely not worth the amount of money we paid! Especially with all of the facilities out of use.

I am disappointed though ,that we booked a more expensive room hoping it would be a great experience, only to find it quite plain and tiny.
Not even anywhere to sit , other than the beds. This is not how the room is advertised "superior" in name only sorry.
The bar and open fire were closed due to Covid and staff shortage I am guessing. We were so looking forward to sitting by the fire and bar as advertised shown on your website.
As these facilities were not open, it did nothing to enhance my special 65th birthday holiday shout.
$144.00 could have been well spent somewhere else sorry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Methven Resort was very clean and friendly. It has suffered somewhat like most other places have over the pandemic. We should be mindful of this when placing ratings. It has not been easy. I would stay here again at this reasonably priced and very clean hotel.

the photos does not really reflect the state of the resort which deserves a refresh.
Our check in has been a bit strange as we found door closed and we had to ring the manager to find our key.
We stayed locked out of our room for 25 min when our key was not able to unlock our door.
The king bed in our deluxe studio was in fact two single beds side by side. So if you are tall your feet will be outside of the bed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went to the restaurant for dinner Friday night. From star to finish, we had a fabulous time. Meet just inside the door and directed to restaurant, greeted at the door of the restaurant with happy smiling friendly staff. Richie showed us to our seats and explained how it all worked. Drink order taken and menu given. We then proceeded with the rounds of food. Good, absolute delight, the people, and the food.
We would travel again from down south just to have this delightful experience again! Five it of five people!
