NZ Discount Car Rentals - Māngere

I had to cancel due to my flight from Australia being canceled due to Covid. I booked with this company as it clearly stated on the website that if canceled more than 72 hours prior to collection, they will refund the money, minus an approximate 5% admin fee. I emailed the company and advised of the cancelation to which I received an email stating “Sorry to hear that , as our current policy , we could not process refund from our branch, but we keep credit under your name NZD -$336.81. You are welcome to redeem out the amount for future booking.” I replied and said “Your policy states that you CAN receive a refund if cancelled within 72 hours (attached). I do not want the credit on the account as my flights to NZ are cancelled.” I received no reply despite sending several emails. I then called the Christchurch branch and they asked how I got the number?! (From my confirmation email). I asked why I was not being given my refund and why after several emails I’d been refused a reply. I was told that “I spoke to head office and they said we were not able to provide the refund.” I didn’t bother continuing. I called the Auckland office and asked the same thing. I was met by a very rude man who refused to help after I said I’d send him my confirmation email with the terms and conditions. I also mentioned what was written on the website right in front of me. I would like to mention that the woman from the Christchurch office was polite. I then decided to take this to the Facebook chat and said “Why are you refusing a refund when your website CLEARLY states i am eligible? I'll be contacting ombudsman and leaving reviews if this is not finalised this week,” whilst attaching a picture of the terms and conditions from my email. I was asked to email their booking email to fix this up. I advised I had done that and they’re not helping. The following day in the chat they asked for my booking number and email address and later that evening a refund had been given. I then proceeded to say thank you to whoever had helped me to which they replied “Pls give me a good review instead of bad one. It suffers everyone in the COVID.” I said “I just want to know why everyone refused my refund even though it clearly states I was entitled to one.” I never received a response. I then asked the same via email twice and have been refused any answer. Edit: Also received attached picture from them after my Facebook review. Btw, they said terms and conditions state no refund and faq was a mistake. Terms and conditions in my email clearly state the refund as pictured.

By far the cheapest rental company for good quality cars. The staff are super friendly too. I can also confirm that the insurance policy is great. I was involved in a "little" crash which involved a second party. Fortunately the insurance coverage i chose took care of my damages, as well as the other persons. Will always hire vehicles from this company. They also provide complimentary airport pickups (during office opening hours).

Great crew. Friendly service, and always looking after their customers. Especially repeat customers. Last time I was here they had just been the victims of crime. The incident might have slowed down another business, however, these folks adapted and kept their ship going straight with little to no interruption to their customers. That in itself should tell you they're worth more than a look. Highly recommended. Oh, and the cars are nice too. ? lol

A crack appeared on the second day on the Front wind screen, we called immediately and were told just to continue to use the car(no swap) I felt really uncomfortable about this. The fact the car develop a crack on second day (not good quality at all) wasn’t happy and also driving it for 2 half more weeks after just made us feel so stressed as we worried it would get worst or break on us causing more damage and cost.(they should of offered us a replacement as glass smashing on you is dangerous) so just warning about the quality of the cars and yes we had to pay for this so costly. Go with someone else who has less bad reviews is my suggestion. Yes it’s cheap but you get what you pay for.

Easy process to get car. And cheap too campare than others. The condition of car is upto the mark. Airport pick-up is available and very to easy to return at airport parking. Totally recommended

Pleasure experience with the car hire. Super good value for the money. PIckup from airport only about 1.5kms and shuttle was quick and comfortable. Services was friendly and car was excellent. Definitely recommended!

We had amazing service from this car company!! We got the time of our flight wrong so had to change to an early morning drop off, and I text them late at night and they replied and were there at 6am the next morning to drop us at the airport! Excellent service would definitely use again!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! This car was given in THIS condition. As a customer, would you accept this? We were told this car was cleaned before we picked it up. The windscreen is filthy and there is NO windscreen wiper fluid. The customer service is questionable. As an unhappy customer I have been made to feel like an inconvenience for a service I am paying for? And told “that’s what’s you paid for” We have a usual rental car company but decided to try this place as we are regular customers with Flyaways. What a shame.
