★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great coffee! Not really a fan of the tour, wasn't my thing, but if you love coffee, this is the stop to make. There is a guy who roasts his own coffee near the long bay track but I couldn't quiet make it to him in time. On the strand, this was the best coffee I tasted. I was eyeing up their pastries, will need to try some next time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited this spot during my Northland trip. This is one of the best historical places that I visited in Northland. They have tried to keep everything as is. The printing machine, the tannery, everything. The real experience of printing something on paper was amazing! The garden with colourful flowers has also been really well maintained and there’s amazing view from up the hill too. The gift shop has good collection of souvenirs and the staff has some great customer service skills. Their coffee is also one of the best in Russell. Would highly recommend this place and would definitely visit again with more friends. Cheers

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We paid $15 per person for access to the garden and to participate in the guided tour of the house. The guide was a lovely woman who was very knowledgeable and also quite humourous, who led us from room to room of the house and educated us about the fascinating history of the place, where the French had setup a printing and tannery outfit in 1842. It isn't exactly a captivating subject to everyone, so while I enjoyed it, I would only recommended it for history buffs or those who are interested in the printing and tannery process.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautifully restored French colonial mission. The tour of the old tanning and printing works was given by a most engaging lady whose enthusiasm for her topic was interesting and entertaining. Really well done and worth every cent of the $15 entry.
The fresh baked croissants and pastries were excellent as was the coffee. ?
Allow a little extra time to enjoy the goodies.

Gift shop has lots of great little gift ideas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really wonderful and informative tour of early printing. Great relaxed guide in Cornelia. Our 4th visit over the years. Special mention of the walk up the hill in the garden. And delicious pastries in cafe. Lovely to find it flourishing with so many families out on the lawn. Idyllic !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not miss the guided tour! I was a bit skeptical as I didn’t think a printing press would be that interesting, but it was FANTASTIC! The past truly comes alive as you get to literally see it in action and even touch some of the original or replica materials. The sordid past of Russell is also revealed through great stories that were totally new to me. Start your day in Russell here; be sure to enjoy a pastry or quiche or sandwich and a coffee as well! Also the gift shop is phenomenal, I bought a book I’m really excited about I haven’t seen anywhere else.
