Good place to stop by while traveling to masterton or upper hutt. Good scenic lookout. Free parking, no public toilet or shops.

Good place for a stop while crossing the Remutaka range when driving in or out of Wellington via SH2. The Remutaka hill road is a whole lot better than it was some years back. But driving the winding road can still be stressful. Stop here midway along the hill crossing to soothe nerves. A small climb takes you to a vantage point with good views. On a bright and beautiful day, the hills look quite good. Not spectacular but quite nice. My day was cloudy and foggy and wasn't that great!

Decided to take a walk up to the top of the Hill, awesome views from the peak. Although there was minimal wind forecasted, when I got up there it was fierce! I got within about two mitres of the trig before giving up; I thought I was going to be blown off the top ? Regardless, awesome spot with such rewarding views. I’m definitely planning on heading up there another time when there’s less wind.

Nice place for a quick visit. There's a half an hour trail to go to the top and sunset looks beautiful from there. The 360 degree view is really awesome. I saw a lake as well, couldn't identify it.

Been there on a nice clear day. Very windy at the Lookout but the view was majestic! Very nice drive too!

A good place to stop at the top of the hill, a walking track and view point nearby. No toilets available . A short distance further down the hill on the Welly side is a carpark on your left with a walk up a steep trig trac. A bit of snow there recently cheers Gary

Historical spot, where Rimutaka Marches took place in 1915 - 1918 with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force Infantry. It has Bush walk near the area where you can definitely enjoy with the view of the outlook at one of its highest point. The view is great, especially in a nice, balmy day. We can see some native bushes and plants in the area as well. There is a parking spot and the walk is not too far. I see no public toilet around. Bring your water bottle and dress properly with comfy walking shoes.
