★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2-bedroom room was just just amazing and it was close to water falls which was even better. Morning birds chirping was soo peaceful.
Facilities needs updating as soon as possible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice, simple, cheap place to stay very close to Paihia. Big common areas including kitchen and lounges, and a deck overlooking the river. Heat pumps in every room. Could perhaps be great budget option for teams or groups during the off season when occupancy is low.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Old property, not clean enough, spiders, cockroach in the bedroom, air condition so cool in the little bedroom, which not a heat pump, no electric blanket available as described in the lodge guide manual, only 1 microwave available (the other one was out of order) for a lot of customers, rubbish bin in the kitchen is too small, was overload for that full occupation customers in the long weekend period

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Poor communication, empty promise, super super bad service, lousy experience.
We make an arrangement for 2 bedrooms and re-confirm the price twice. But when we arrived the staff mentioned our room be taken by their regular customer and request us to upgrade the room with increasing price.
We make this booking in the afternoon and arrived around 9pm , in between that is plenty of time the staff can call us for early notice however they just wait untill we arrived and request us to top up the price because our room be taken.
The staff even threaten said we cannot find any other room in paihia with the price they offer. ?????
Not apologise and continues finding excuses just too bad for their customer service
Overall really screw up our trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice receptionist but the room was pretty gross. The corner of the bathroom was coming up and had black mold/mildew (?) In the corner and all along the baseboards. Looked like it had, had flooding damage at one point and no one decided to fix it. Mold on the curtains, cobwebs in the room, very dated. Bit expensive for what you get but peak season in Paihia it's too be expected.
Beds were clean and comfortable though and the TV worked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked online using hostel world, only to turn up and not have a room available, we then had to pay for a room double the price. Not particularly the business' fault but it's definitely not our fault. Now we are out of pocket 200 dollars.
Aside from that the staff are lovely, and it's a lovely location. It has a full kitchen that guests can use, great burners and all utsenils available. My only issue would be the cleanliness of the bathroom, it had a strange smell and was quite mouldy In corners.
