Me and my partner arrived in Wellington at 6am and found out that this hotel offers day use rooms 7am-7pm for $100. So we went there and were informed by reception that their day use rooms are for 7am-11am (!) and of course for the same price of $100. When shown their own hotel website with 7am-7pm he was rude and pretend he doesn't know anything but also didn't check with anyone and try to push us to either pay 100 bucks for 4h or leave. We left and went to Ibis Hotel few meters down the road with lovely stuff and room 7am-5pm. So if you're looking for day use room (or any other room) go to Ibis instead. Not those rude scammers

Staffs were not that welcoming. Room is quite small. Bed was comfy and the overall place was clean. I visited during school holiday so there’s lots of children around

The location was excellent, shops and food places are in walking distance. The reception staff and room service were super polite. Only problem we had was the cleaners. The room wasn’t clean. Microwave was disgusting, dust everywhere and beds poorly made. Shower isn’t great either. The shower head kept slipping out of place, and the water pressure was very low.

We specifically booked the deluxe king suite because in the photos it showed a harbour view and in the room description it said there is a bathtub. Those are the two main things that were important to us, but when we got to our room there was no view of the harbour and no bathtub. The room would have been really nice despite this, except it was very poorly cleaned when we arrived and had greasy fingerprints all over the bathroom, some kind of lotion splattered all over the shower walls, and thick dust all over everything. While most of the staff we dealt with were very friendly and welcoming, one particular person I spoke to when I called room service was extremely rude and nasty for no reason. The bed was very comfortable and the room was easy to keep warm with the heat pump. The room service meals were nice and one meal was even brought to us free of charge because it was later than expected. Overall the hotel is nice but we were just a little disappointed with our experience with this room, especially for the price we paid.

Great central place to stay. Staff were very helpful, kind and thoughtful, from the person who parked the car, the young man who carried our bag to the room, the receptionist who answered questions she's probably been asked a thousand times and the woman who got me coffee in the morning. Thank you.

I’ve not stayed here but if you’re going to use a room as a store room don’t use a room that the public can see. It’s not a good look on the company. To paraphrase Rydges wellington does have a β€˜Unique… city outlook’ happy to change post if something is done even if it’s just a simple closing of the curtains like the room below the store room

Great location and hotel. The biggest asset it has though is it's staff. Friendliest helpful staff I've encountered at a large hotel. Breakfast is very nice, I would like to have tried the restaurant but time didn't allow. I will be returning

Stayed at the Rydges during our weekend trip to Wellington, and we were greeted by a lovely young man at the front desk in the morning. I believe his name was Sam, and he was just fantastic in letting us check in early and also offering to hold onto our bags so we could explore the city even after we had checked out. The room was nice and the free breakfast was fantastic. Thank you Sam and the Rydges for making our trip more comfortable. Would definitely book again, next time we are in time
