About South City Health
Health screening and promotion are priorities as a major aim is to work in partnership with our patients to prevent disease, reduce disability and to maintain their health. Acute medical care is also provided. We work with the local business community to provide pre-employment and continuing employment health checks, minor accident and vaccination services for workers. We also provide a local Pathlab phlebotomy agency.
South City Health was a new family practice established in purpose-built premises in 1998. It was an amalgamation of the existing practices of 4 GPs, 3 of whom had known each other since medical school, and a younger GP. There are now 5 partners, 3 part-time associates, and 2 part-time employed doctors. We also have 6 practice nurses (some of whom job share), one practice manager, and 4 receptionists.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to register today on someones say so as to them being a really good medical center.
I was asked "Do you have a passport or Birth Cert"
"No I do not have a passport and I am adopted so my birth cert does not have"
and that was as far as I got and was cut off and said I can not register. So I walked out. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Had the woman behind the counter actually let me finish then she would have heard that I have a marriage cert that shows all my names and a drivers licence which is photo id.
I am sick to death of places not accepting my drivers licence as my Id, I have jumped through so many hoops to get real me id etc and if you do not have a passport then tough you do not exist.
This medical center needs to get in the real world. I belong to another practice in another town, its not like I am trying buy anything etc, all I wanted was to swap doctors closer to me.
Why must people/places make things so hard!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place used to be good when I first joined. Now they have way too many patients to doctors and it takes about a week to even get an appointment. Very frustrating when our family has to keep going to A&E for anything cause we can’t get in with our doctors

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not the best place if you are a Karen. But if you aren't a Karen then this is a really good practice. Doctors that I have seen are knowledgeable and caring, admin staff and nurses are very professional/serious. That professional/serious attitude would offend a Karen.
Not the cheapest but but a full time job eases the sting from the bill.
Same again with the pharmacy; if you a Karen, don't come here. But if you don't mind waiting, they are pretty good and very helpful with prescriptions.

South City Dr's especially Dr Ewen and Dr Hancock were helpful and professional in all their dealings with me. Louise from Accounts managed the financial side with diplomacy and tact during a challenging time. This enabled me to have the needed surgery and retain my dignity while I worked through the financial cost. I have been coming to this practise for 20 years now and right from Dr Bradley looking after me during my pregnancy to now - you have been amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Moving my daughters enrollment following dr not prescribing medication as she couldn't get hold of her paediatrician. It's not off label and perfectly suitable for a baby with reflux disease. GP didnt even have the decency to call back and say she wouldn't prescribe it, guess it's ok to leave my daughter in severe pain when you dont have to deal with the consequences yourself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend Dr Wong as she is extremely caring, helpful and thorough. Our whole family now goes to her.
A very busy medical center so whenever possible I book ahead but I really wouldn't go anywhere else because Dr Wong is the absolute best and always takes the time to listen and gives real support.
The reception staff and nurses (in particular Rachel and Denise) are also great :-)
