β β β β β I have been taking my pets to Swanson Road Vets for many years. In the past I have had 2 dogs and 3 cats euthanized because of illness or just old age and have never had any reason to complain until now. On the 12th of April 22 I had to have my cat put to sleep because she had cancer..her little nose was being eaten away ? it was bad enough having to put her to sleep, let alone having to wait half an hour to see the vet with no ( so sorry for keeping you waiting) the appointment was at 9.15 am and I didnβt get seen by a vet until 9.45m. It was heartbreaking enough without being left to wait and then to make it worse the vet didnβt even take my girl out of her cage, she just grabbed her by the scruff and injected her with a tranquilizer Iβve never seen someone treat any of my pets so rough when having to be put to sleep.
I think itβs time I changed Vets. ?

β β β β β Having been a customer at Swanson Road Vets for absolute ages, I tried to get an emergency appointment with one of the new vets this morning (19 April 2022) for my cat who has become very sick only to be brushed off by the receptionist and told the earliest that they could help me would be on 26th April!!??!!? No concern for my cat / their patient at all. No offers of where else I could go to for help even though I had told her that we had been to the West Auckland After Hours Vets the day before. Just could not care less. I will never take any of my animals there again - EVER!!!

β β β β β Had a lovely first experience at Swanson road vets yesterday. Sue Grant was very kind and gentle to our timid cat Masha and explained everything clearly. We will definitely be back :)

β β β β β Weβve been going to this vet for about 4 years now. Our first visit since they have changed ownership was today just for annual vax for our cat. They were very busy and had a couple of emergencies in, which I and others waiting were happy to wait and patient with the situation. I checked in on arrival and was polite, the lady training someone new (who was nice) was very rude and unprofessional. I went back out to my car to wait and checked in again 30 mins later. Again the same person, just rude. The person being trained was kind and polite. Awesome service from the actual vet.

β β β β β Most grateful to have a semi-urgent appointment for our cat which I had major concerns about.
The Dr. was most informative and put me at ease and cat is now at home and spritely.
Family is very happy as is the cat.

β β β β β Extremely professional and very clear on what was required for our dog. Manage the consultation extremely well for the current Covid situation by allowing you to still be part of the council even though you had to remain outside. Staff are very friendly and very comforting.
