When we opened our first store in Christchurch in 1995, our dream was to create a true pet superstore that could offer the complete pet experience and help New Zealand be the best pet parents they can be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Animates vetcare have a hardworking dedicated team who go above and beyond for the animals they help. My boy mordecai, we've had some issues, his tumour popped I rushed him to animates and they were fully booked that day and rescheduled their surgerys to do emergency surgery on my dog. Two weeks later he needed an amputation, the night before the op the surgeon rung me saying her child had stomach bug so we reschedualed for the next day, the next day I get another call saying the surgeon had been up all night vomiting with the bug aswell but she didn't want to have to re book us again, so she did a 5 hour long surgery, a complicated one at that after being up all night with the stomach bug and she did the best job ever!! Couldnt be more happy with recovery, not a single infection after surgery and stitches even came out two days earlier than planned! Would definitely reccomend animates ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have decided to switch vets after two consecutive negative experiences. Today we turned up on time for our scheduled appointment only to be told that the vet was running at least an hour behind schedule. No further explanation or estimated time provided, so we decided not to stay. During the previous visit with our cat I was asked to "please don't stroke your cat in here, as then I have to sweep up after each paitent". I didn't realise that keeping my beloved girl calm while visiting your office would be such an inconvenience for you. Went down to Henderson Vet Clinic and we were met by a warm, friendly team who welcomed us straight away, even without an appointment. The cost of the visit was a fraction of what we were charged at Pet Doctors, alongside a far superior experience overall. Needless to say we will not be returning to Pet Doctors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gay at Pet Doctors understands and really cares .. Always a pleasure to see her .. Gay even phoned us before she left work to ask us how our puppy (Cooper) was as he had been there that morning.
The Doctor that saw Cooper was caring and went thru everything with us. Everyone we have come in contact with there as been amazing.

The Pet Doctors team is always there for advice when I am unsure about something to do with our pup.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was only connected with them for about a year after our cat aged became ill and eventually had to be put to sleep. But, they were helpful, and so caring. Received a lovely card after our furbaby was euthanized. I would highly recommend this vet and staff. We will be using them when we adopt another cat.
