What an amazing adventure. We boarded the catamaran on the lake front, and were warmly greeted by the tour operators. The ride to the caves took about 40 minutes, but the trip was very enjoyable. I travelled with my 2 elderly parents, and they enjoyed the trip. The tour guides were very knowledgeable, with a very cultural interpretation of the caves, journey and wildlife. I highly recommend this journey to anybody, probably best if the kids are older than 10.

This took my breath away. The caves are deep and impressive. The Gloworms magical. The boat ride amazing. Take your time to read up in the cave system as it has a lot of interesting history.

We were unsure about this tour due to the weather, but our expectations were definitely exceeded. The staff were really friendly and informative. The tour starts on a catamaran, then you dock on the other side of the lake (about 30 minute trip) followed by a debrief at a cosy hut (has a little shop and everything). Then you go in to the cave on foot over a walkway followed by a pitch black boat ride where you can only see the glow worms - amazing. Everything felt very safe and at the end a free hot drink is provided. If you are on the fence, I would recommend going on this tour, well worth it.

An excellent experience that was well worth the money. Beautiful views across the lake during the short boat ride there. The cave system is really well done with a great walkway and is lit appropriately. The boat ride at the end of the accessible cave was incredible. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable which added to the experience.

A must do experience in Te Anau. The glowworm caves experience is far better than the Waitomo Caves, I would have to say. Smaller groups feel and real authentic cave experience, with a bit of back-bending to getting you started. The glowworms feel so close and the sound of the water rushing below your feet is really heart pumping! The guides are informative and funny.

A great excursion from beginning to end! Wear a warm jacket so you can enjoy the top deck of the boat to the caves. It's windy and chilly up there, but so much fun. The cave was awesome, and our guide did a great job of pointing out things like baby stalagmites and Eddie the eel. Floating in darkness under the abundant glow worms was magical almost beyond description, so I won't even try. I'll just say that I've lived in NZ for over two years now, and that was one of the most memorable experiences. Highly recommend the experience, and will definitely take any friends/family who visit!
