★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My tenant rung the Cylinder Guy in Dunedin and was told over the phone, without looking at the cylinder, that it would need replaced at cost of $2000+. Surely if you're going to give solutions and quotes, over the phone, without checking the cylinder out, you should be asking some good questions... like "did you turn the temperature down recently?". What a bunch of stress this guy caused for his "expert" opinion and advice. And yes, my tenant was at fault for not disclosing her changes to the cylinder and I would remiss if I did follow over-the-phone advice. But I would expect over-the-phone advice to be backed by a list of comprehensive questions that would cover all options. Dunedin Cylinder Guy - you need to stop ripping people off. Your reputation in Dunedin is not good. Hopefully more people will take the time to write a review...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Install was quick, maybe to quick. The new outdoor cylinder is not straped properly to the wall. Its just a screw holding each end of the straps into the weatherboard and they are loose. The cylinder can be easily rocked side to side. Also it's located on top of sewer lines so that's likely to be a problem in future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Even though they missed out selling me a cylinder (they phoned me over 24 hours after lodging enquiry through website and by then I had found one myself), they where apologetic and offered to organize the plumber to get my new cylinder installed, which I accepted.
Note: I took a shotgun approach to finding a new hot water cylinder, and of the FOUR outfits who's online forms I filled out, CylinderGuy are still (now 4 days later) the only one to have contacted me!
