Tokaanu Lodge Motel is set in park like surroundings is located near an active thermal field. All units are spacious and ideal for families.
Our location is an ideal base for excursions into Tongariro National Park and is just 40 minutes from Whakapapa ski area on Mt Ruapehu.
A Boat Ramp is located in Tokaanu giving easy access to Lake Taupo boating and trout fishing. It’s just 3 minutes drive to Turangi where amenities such as supermarkets, petrol stations and cafes/restaurants are available. At the end of your busy day relax in our Pools. We have a large communal pool which is fresh water heated and 3 private pools 2 of which are mineral pools and the other a fresh water heated pool.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very welcoming. The proprietor there very homely and welcoming. Rooms were spacious and not only were they warm felt like home. Kitchen equiped with all you need for your stay, shower was wonderful and the surrounding magical. Fresh water and mineral pool available and they will cater for your needs. Pricing very good. Will definately return there often for a very memorable stay. Five stars from me. Thank you Sheryl and your team form the bottom of our hearts. ?

It's so tranquil & private with heaps to see & do at your doorstep, impeccable service & cleanliness, and even has beautiful mineral pools to relax in. Highly recommend this gem and can't wait to return for a longer stay!

Well done to the owners of this beautiful place if there were 10 stars it still wouldn't be enough for the outstanding hospitality great prices and service you provide to your customers, I especially love the milk in a glass bottle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The facilities were very clean indeed. The kitchen was easy to use and well-equipped. The wifi worked instantly. We really enjoyed the mineral pool after walking the Tongariro Crossing - it defintely eased sore muscles. We really liked the emphasis on sustainability and recycling. The reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 (because it was otherwise 5 stars) is that the queen bed was saggy and I got a sore back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We’ve stayed here 5+ times and always enjoy it. Rooms are clean, tidy and well appointed. The owners are very friendly and take great care of the motel. It’s also great for bringing the boat or going trout fishing. Looking forward to many more trips here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thank you for having us stay this Easter weekend. We loved staying here the space is beautiful especially if you have kids as there is a trampoline and loads of space to ride bikes etc even some goats to visit. the lodge is lovely and has a relaxing vibe about it. The pools are a bonus!
